Waiver & Release of Liability

By submitting this waiver, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Voluntary Participation

I am voluntarily participating as a volunteer for Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale (“IBBS”). I understand that my participation is without compensation and does not create an employment relationship.

Assumption of Risk

I understand that volunteer activities may involve physical activity (such as lifting, bending, or moving boxes of books), and that participation may expose me to certain risks of injury or accident. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with volunteering.

Release & Waiver

I hereby release and hold harmless Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale, its directors, officers, staff, agents, and event partners from any liability, claims, or demands of any kind that may arise from my participation in this volunteer activity, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Medical Authorization

In case of emergency, I authorize IBBS representatives to seek medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to communicate, and I agree to assume responsibility for any associated costs.

Photo/Media Release

I grant permission to IBBS to use my image, likeness, or voice in photographs, video, or other media taken during the event for promotional and educational purposes, without compensation.

Code of Conduct

I agree to perform my duties responsibly, follow instructions from event staff, and treat other volunteers, staff, and attendees with respect
